Cards without their case might not align correctly in the connector.
Trying to align it visually is almost impossible.  I usually put a bead of
solder on the connector pins on either end, top and bottom.  Then when you
push the card into the connector, the solder bead aligns it correctly.
You may have to try it a couple times to get the right thickness.
