If you're able to read german:
Günter Schmitt, "Maschinenorientierte Programmierung für
Mikroprozessoren", 1980 R. Oldenbourg
Verlag, ISBN 3-486-22892-7. I have the 2nd edition.
I've found them on many university librarys.

The 6809 is a very different chip. Although it is an 8 bit
processor, it has some commands which use two registers as
16 bit ones (comparable with the way the 8080 does). I've worked
with that one many years ago and I found it very interesting.
I even once had a plan to put an 6809 on the C64's expansion port,
but never got that far so I had a complete schematic which even
would be complete - I don't speak of being able to work!
Spiro.
