PET 2001 internal tape drive

Hi All,
I'm repairing the internal tape drive of a 2001. It seems to me that
the ground connection of its connector goes to two wires, black and
orange in this particular one. The orange wire is disconnected and the
black one was soldered (badly, very) to the pin 1 of the connector.
The orange wire goes to the ground of the electronic board and the
black one goes to the minus (probably) of the motor.
So, I'm pretty sure I need to connect the orange wire back with the
black one at the connector, but if someone can confirm this, I really
appreciate it :)
