I use an SFD-1001 to image 8050 disks using OpenCBM. I first put the drive
into single-sided mode using these commands (assumes device number 8):

$ cbmctrl -p command 8 m-w 172 16 1 1
$ cbmctrl -p command 8 m-w 195 16 1 0
$ cbmctrl -p command 8 u9

The commands above are based on an old email from Nicolas Welte:

Once the drive is in single-sided mode, I use d82copy with the "-1"
(single-sided) option.

Regards,
Mike
