A few years ago, I swapped a few e-mail messages with a guy who had worked
on a non-compressing zip archiver.  That shouldn't be too difficult; just
translate the file names to ASCII and calculate checksums of the files.
More advanced compression than simple RLE is out of the question, unless
you have a REU and/or much patience.

Compile lynx and unlynx for the Macintosh.  You can find the C source code
of an implementation in cbmconvert 2.0.
