Burst vs. JiffyDOS

I'm very interested in this item. reason: a possible 1581IDE.

To be honest, I was a bit fed up with 1541IDE some time ago, so I turned
to some others projects. But lately I decided to pick it up again for
various reasons. One of them is that could lay my hands on a brooken
1581 W/O drive that I managed to repair. Another reason: I want to
develop a file system that can handle more than the 16 MB the momentary
FS can. It has been discussed years ago and I dedicated a page to it:

The main reason to target the 1581 is the burst mode. But if it is
slower then JiffyDOS under normal conditions, I tend to stay to the 1541
as base for two simple reasons:
- I have enough 1541s and only a few 1581s.
- I know the 1541 much much better than the 1581 and already have done
some work on it.
