the biggest problem with those simple ieee 488 interface seems to be one cant seem to disable them runtime, atleast I havent found out how to do so, that makes it them a bit troublesom, as I cant use mine alongside iec bus. I uses mine to drive my 8250lp and 8050 drive but without the iec bus its a annoying to transferer things onto them for my 8032sk and 8296.
