Hallo André, -------- Original-Nachricht -------- Datum: Sat, 07 Oct 2006 22:09:37 +0200 Von: "André Fachat" <email@example.com> > - I find it interesting that the disk drive uses two 6502 instead > of a 6502 and a 6504, but I have to check with the schematics > of the other disk drives. It looks like a normal SFD1001 controller board without modifications. The adaptor board for the 6530 is also standard on all SFD1001 that I have seen so far. The 8250LP controller has a similar adaptor board, but mechanically different. All 8x50 series drives (including the SFD) have two 6502 CPUs instead of the 6502/6504 combo of the lower density x040 drives. I don't think there was a technical reason, maybe only availability of the chip. the drive mechanism also looks like a standard SFD1001 unit. Probably one of the many power supplies in the machine is also the original SFD supply. Nicolas Message was sent through the cbm-hackers mailing list
