As I suggested on Denial, have you confirmed if the 6522 VIA chips
in this type of interface are OK? While I don't have a VIC-1112, I
checked how the IEEE interfaces I have act without its VIAs. It
started up fine with SYS 45056 (typo above). Trying to access the
drives made the VIC-20 lock up though.

Does there exist a ROM dump of the 1112, in case the start address
is different than the first byte of the ROM?
