I agree; something like the above -- archive onto the HD, and have some
mechanism for de-archiving onto a spare floppy -- might be quite cool.

Well, I don't want to get in a big CMD war, but my usual argument is
that unlike a PC, the CMD device will be useful for a good 20 years,
so once you amortize the cost over that time they become an incredible
_value_. I think my FD-2000 is just the greatest thing in the world --
a real bargain. It's hard to describe just how nifty it is. Let me
put it this way: I use the 128+FD2000 quite a lot more than my fancy
030/50 Amiga.

Also, for what it's worth, all CMD products come with JD installed
(you listed them as extra on your price list).

Could I have bought a cheapo PC for that money? Sure. But I would lose
compatability, desktop space, and _serious_ convenience. Besides, the FD
is much more cool-looking :).

By the way, on a totally different subject, I am writing an 816 assembler
(on my 128+FD2000 of course :). Are there any SCPU guys out there, who
could do a little beta testing? (Besides Robin, I mean :).

Thanks,

-Steve
