Your remark made me compare both schematics, the CBM one and the one of the
Elektor videocard, again. And indeed, the 6845 of the CBM runs at 1 MHz and
the one of the Elektor runs at 2 MHz. But both 74166 serialisers run at 16
MHz. This means 8 bits par 6845-cycle for the Elektor and 16 bits for the
CBM. And 16 bits = 2 chars.

Explaining the problem, yes. But a drawback for my project. But I'm sure
I'll find a solution :)

FYI: as a German you are probably familiar with the Elektor magazine. They
produced the Junior and other computers. I want to convert the EC65K into a
CBM 8032-SK thus ending up with a CBM built out of Eurocards and having a
65816 onboard.
