I would believe that if enough people are kind and asking Peter
for a single-file archive, he could create it (maybe host it
elsewhere if his disk space doesn't permit it). The question
is why you want to download a mailing list archive other than
for browsing it when you are not connected to Internet.
Maybe it would be better that someone with a lot of time went
through the cbm-hackers archive and digged out the valuable
information sent through the years, and thus made a digested
archive (not FAQ, but digest). A lot of the messages like these
are only empty filling.
The digest could even be indexed and searchable, and anyone with
a question could search the digest/archive first and ask here
later.
