hmmm..

Today I tried with 2 more drives..

So in total I used 3 drives.

these are : newtronics d509v2, canon 5501, and a panasonic model (of which I
can't tell the type right now, as it's inside my pc ;) but I noticed it's te
same model as used to describe how to modify the drive to be able to read
backsides, so I WAS hopeful about that one)..

The more I try the more I really get the feeling some tracks are not written
at all..

All of these drives are OLD but working fine, they come from 486 machines.
(the panasonic came from an old c= 486 ;)

Also I tried putting the card in different pci-slots, and attaching the
drives to the 2 different positions on the cable (A: or B:)..

Nothing really helped, but I can transfer disks with small files now, as
long as I have a file written multiple times on a disk, there always seems
to be one that works.

HELP!

i actually have the same problems, and already contacted jens. he told
me
that not every 'new' 5 1/4 disk drive is working because of it´s higher
precision. i am trying now with 3 different drives but none is working.
maybe anyone with a working setup can tell me which devvice i should
use.

greetings
nils andreas
