Hallo Per, > On a similar note I've been thinking about how to connect an IDE drive > to the C64 using no active components, only cables and connectors. I > think I've figured it out, but I'm not sure if it'll actually work: It works :) Please see http://home.hccnet.nl/g.baltissen/c64ide.htm. Missing is the ML-file that also describes the connections. The ML-program enabled me to stop and start the motor of the HD on command. This on itself prooves the connection workes. Now someone has to write an OS for it. And that will cost time.... The only way one can address such a drive is using the Kernal. So any program addressing a IEC-drive using its own routines never will see the HD. I cannot afford to spend time to such an incompatible device :( Idea: hack the one of IDE64 :) -- ___ / __|__ / / |_/ Groetjes, Ruud \ \__|_\ \___| http://Ruud.C64.org Message was sent through the cbm-hackers mailing list
