It depends on the converter chip used in the device. I have a Redant
converter box (not in active use; just as a spare, or to get colour
output from my NTSC VIC-20 board) whose most important chips have been
tampered with, so that their labels cannot be read. The Redant box has
no problems with sync, but it does have problems with the NTSC colour
phase. The hue control is rather coarse, and the optimal setting
differs from colour combination to another.
BTW, I think that the C65 uses the C64 BN/E power supply.
