CIA Serial Registers on C128

Hi All,

I'm looking to interface something which will clock both CNT1/CNT2 via the
userport to shift in data on SP1/SP2.

As I understand it, CNT1/SP1 is used as the burst interface on a C128 in
C128 mode.

If I connected the interface to the userport and used all four signals I
intend to, will the internal circuitry disconnect activity on CNT1/SP1 from
the userport so that burstmode continues to work without having to
physically unplug the device?

Cheers,
Nick
