Hm... Blue smoke can be almost all, as I found out when I blew our
expnsive PC/104... :-(

Yes, it is. The extra command makes it as fast as the 1540.
Anyway, it is not slower than a 1541 on a C64. ;)
Anyway, you can convert a 1541 to a 1540 (or vice versa) by just swapping
one ROM (the higher part, I think?), so this really is not a real argument
pro or con the 1540, IHMO.
