Not necessarily. If the memory if not ok, it might give you any symptoms it
wants... Even a illegal quantity error is possible (for example, if one bit
changes from 1 to 0 or vice versa or if some expansion chip goes on the data
line when it should not, making a bit appear flipped, too).
