I assume you mean the "MOS Microcomputers Hardware Manual"?

Just checked it, and all it says is that an "interrupt will be
recognized after the processor completes the instruction which it is
currently executing". There are some timing diagrams, but reading the
accompanying text reveals that the delays showed there are merely
examples.
