It seems nowhere near something usuable at this time. If the other projects
on opencores.org is an indication, I wouldn't expect too much from it.

For instance, the I2C[1] interface is a joke - the specs don't justify an
FPGA at all - even the most generic microcontroller do a better job than
that.
