(there was one that connects to the expansion port iirc?). i dont think there are differences that should affect it, the most important one is the PLA (which is in a cpld) and the clock generator (8701 replacement). that powerup behaviour seems strange also, does it happen with regular kernal and no dolphin connected too? in any case, report those problems back to jens - i havent heard about any problems like that after the initial test boards and related fixes.
