no for me a replacement with a 65816 would be like a sheep with 5 legs

I consider that a replacement must be as close as possible of the original

if I want a machine with new functionalities I buy the latest PC

(except if the 65816 is some functionalities that makes  the replacement 
extremely easy to used...)

if one day I makes one, I'll probably use a WDC 65C02 plcc
