Certainly. What you could do though is to implement the Jiffy protocol yourself instead of using JiffyDOS. To my understanding, this is how it is done inside sd2iec firmware.

There are various KERNALs that speed up operations of (usually only) 1541 drive with the 64. But they don't work "magically", without any support from the drive side. Those that do not require drive firmware modification usually do this with transferring a small routine to the drive before doing the actual transfer. Which of those would work with sd2iec is a question to sd2iec experts.
