I don't remember the details right now. This IIRC not only concerns the ATN response but also relations between signal transitions. So you will need to drive the lines directly, which may require creating kernel drivers. If you have direct hardware access, you can adapt the xd2031 firmware to run on the PC instead of an AtMega (it runs on the PC already but only for unit and integration tests for now).
