I remember playing with ROMs long time ago. My memory is vague but from
what I recall:

* The oldest revision (which was originally in my machine) worked well
with the drive, but several BASIC commands were not implemented.

* A middle revision (sorry, cannot remember which) caused drive errors
(especially when writing - trying to write anything would destroy data
on the disk).

* The newest revision worked well with the drive again, but there were
indeed problems with entering BASIC commands.

Finally I went back to the earliest revision because it was least
problematic when working a lot with the drive, which I was doing a lot.

I haven't tested all the revision back then, and I haven't tested them
with the RAM expansion, but generally my results look similar to yours.

Regards,
Michau.
