I volunteered to port my Vic Flash Plugin
http://www.iki.fi/~msmakela/8bit/vfp/index.en.html to the new hardware.
I think that only one completed prototype of this cartridge exists. The
emulation was implemented in VICE about 5 years ago.

Because Jim's hardware offers more flash (16MB instead of 4MB), it does
not make that much sense to employ compression. The cartridge images can
be banked directly from the flash, making the switching super-fast. My
current software uses Pasi Ojala's PuCrunch decompressor code, which can
take a few seconds to copy compressed images to the RAM expansion.

Yeah, or why not fill the 16MB flash with a movie? I guess it might be
feasible with a reasonable framerate if the VIC-I can directly access
the external memory. Pasi, are you reading this list? :)

I will try to implement the new cartridge emulation in VICE in the next
couple of weeks.
