I believe this heavily depends on the machine you put it in. The "riser"
approach should work very well for the 64. There it by itself can get
above the shield. Might not be that rosy for the metal cased PETs for a
good example.

I /think/ this should be solvable with socket-type pinheads instead of
"goldpin" type. Those are significantly thinner and should fit into
those foil sockets.
