My Spring 1980 Commodore Price List lists the 8000, which even predates the
4000 series or 4.0 ROMS upgrades:

display and new screen editor functions, and
(Available June 1980)
BASIC 4 0 Operating System.
I think later in the year the FAT 40s made their debut, and in 1981 was the
SuperPET and VIC-20, then in 1982 came the B Series and C-64/Ultimax line.

1978 or 1979 Large keyboard PETs - 2001 xxB and xxN series.
