Yes, without kludges only R1.3+ can be booted from hard drives. But there
is at least one A500 controller that can boot from R1.2 based machine.
Unfortunately I can't remember the name of the manufacturer, but I'll dig
it out.

I have a feeling that A590 has this ability as well, but like I said I'm
not sure. And I think there was others as well, maybe some GVP's old
A500-controllers?


BTW: Those of you that have been using my Commodore Service Manuals web
site <http://www.devili.iki.fi> may have noticed that the site is down.
This is because my school installed a masquerating firewall which effectly
stops any attempt to access the server.

I'm currently seeking for an alternative place for the machine, but for the
time being it is unavailable.

I'm sorry about that, but it is currently out of my hands.
