Would you settle for an "I don't remember" answer? While I clearly remember
the magazine version, there might be a PRG file on Funet/Zimmers that I
downloaded and used as well. It seems Didier has found a PRG file somewhere,
so one of the questions is if this one is the same as I found in the
magazine. I can check that at a later point in time, and also clear any
credits misrecordings.

Perhaps the source is this file?

http://zimmers.net/anonftp/pub/cbm/vic20/demos.basic/unexpanded/Penny%20Lane.prg

I admit this version stutters in a much unflattering way even on WinVICE 2.3
and a 2 GHz P4. I just need to check if the magazine version contains the
same DATA statements. Otherwise it would probably be possible to re-adopt my
machine code version using Asger Alstrup's player, assuming it contains the
same music data.. right now I'm not in a position to assemble the VVV demo
with optional musics.

Best regards
