Since I don't have one, I find it hard to verify but from what I saw on youtube, it boots into "native mode" and can be brought into C64 mode in at least one way similar to C128: by issuing the GO64 command.

Looks like it could be but are we sure it is indeed the C64 mode? There are some things one doesn't normally find in the 64 itself, nor in the 128 in 64 mode. Those can of course be extensions brought in by the new HW. The best way to check it would be if someone with C65 could do a few POKEs ;-) I believe we have some lucky C65 owners here, don't we?
