or, as the Software Preservation Society people do say: To achiev better
accuracy in preserving disks, because many of the flip-side originals
were written that way. That way the index hole does not only synchronise
the track start of the lower disk side, but also the track end of the
upper side (track "end", because the upper side of flip-disk has to be
written backwards).

Don't know, if this _really_ matters in the end, but it's always better
to look for it instead of training personal ignorance ;-)
