There are 30 IEC bus slots if you do not use CHKIN and CHKOUT, but the
IEC routines directly. 0, 1, 2 and 3 are valid IEC bus device numbers.

To come back to the original question: For me, I have 3 IEC devices plus
one IEC2IEEE device plus a C128 on one connection for the XA1541 or
XU1541. However, this might be unusual, as I am using it only for
testing OpenCBM.
