You are dealing with a DOS system that thinks it has 2 drives.  It is only 
the controller part that knows there is only one drive.

If you access the drive and do not specify drive 0 in the command, there 
is a possibility that it may try to access drive 1.  This is especially 
true if there was an error on drive 0, or if the file you tried to access 
was not found on drive 0.
