The problem with collector items is that they have only value for a collector. Have a look at your own Citroën 2CV; for some people it is still the ultimate car, others prefer their new Dacia.

I can only give you the price of what people wanted to give me for one of my items or what I have heard what has been paid (all prices in Euros):

And thus a typical collectors item only known to the few. Unknown and thus worth nothing to most people, certainly an insurrance company that has to pay out. 


What did I do? I went to my insurrance company and had a talk. I said that my stuff had about this value and they simply calculated what I have to pay every year. But what is "value"? The money will never replace the actual device :(
