To be short: I'm quite convinced that that shouldn't be any problem. The 
x040's share the memory on other addresses then 8x50's IIRC but that is 
just a matter of setting the right address in the source. Even the fact 
that the 6502's of the x040's share the data and address bus and those of 
the 8x50 don't is a problem. So I'm very confident that this project works
