two years ago, Spiro referred to a german book from
Karsten Schramm about the Commodore floppies.

The author tells that the so named REL file bug in
fact does not exist. Instead he explains that the
byte number after the RECORD# command need not be
left out. This parameter is not optional as
documented.
Don't nail me down on this since I never made any
tests for a proof of this.
