The "pet Personal Computer Guide", p385 says:
"After updating a relative record, it is wise to move the record pointer
far enough to force DOS to write the altered record back to disk.
Otherwise, the corrections may be forgotten.
Solution: Use the Record instruction to force the record pointer to
point at least two records beyond the current one after updating."
