Hallo allemaal,
I had some difficult days as both Validate and Scratch didn't work
anymore. I knew I already had some troubles with Scratch (not always
adjusting the number of free blocks) but I couldn't reproduce the error.
And at that time I had no idea if it was Scratch itself being errorous
as I had some other bugs as well. But now the 1541 simply hang after
executing the command. It took me some time to find the troubleshooter:
the routine at $FB64 we discussed lately. It disables the IRQ at the end
and I didn't know that. Inserting a CLI did the trick. This isn't a
workaround because this is what happens in the original ROM as well.
My previous problems with the errorous number of free blocks has gone as
well. But the reason can be that I fixed the problem by using this $FB64
routine.
The problem with Validate was a BEQ that should have been a BNE. The
biggest problem was not the error itself but the time it took to find
it.
With a bit of luck I can finish the subdirectory chapter this week.
Should be possible because I have a small vacantion until the 31st :)
During breaks I was able to work on version 6, 16 MB floppies, but
didn't have any time to test it yet. And then.... LBA. And after the LBA
version I'll take a break concerning this project. See next emails.
