I have a "normal" 8296-D, and that connector and the coiled cable look
exactly like my keyboard connector and cable (same as with the other
models in the rounded case). That connector is a normal D-type
connector, not an IEEE one (which looks much like a Centronics
connector, as in http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IEEE-488, which always
were terribly expensive)
