Help with a 8050 drive

Hello,

Could someone help me with a malfunctioning CBM 8050 disk drive?

The drive won't HEADER a disk or perform a DIRECTORY command. When these commands are given, the drive appears to be functioning normally. You can hear the heads moving as though the drive is working. But, when the command is complete, nothing has changed. With the HEADER command, the drive displays a "bad disk" error and that is all. The disk is not headered. The DIRECTORY command does not list the directory.

Any help to repair the drive and to find parts is greatly appreciated.

Also, I am looking for someone in the United States and Canada who still repairs Commodore PET hardware. Any recommendations would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

Mark
