My experience was that a "modern" modem in a PC worked
just fine on the VoIP line. However, I tested a Hayes
Compatible 2400 baud modem, a 1670 1200 baud modem,
and a 1660 300 baud modem on my C64 with the same VoIP
line, and none of them would work without outrageous
amounts of line noise. :-(
