I recently gave away an extra 1581, C128, and lots of duplicate stuff to a
friend. Seems to me the 1581 shouldn't cost more than $30, maybe $40. I
am now down to 1 C128 and 1 C128D. The FD2000 is fully 1581 compatable.
(And, while you didn't ask, the DSDD disks in a 1571 work just fine with a
C64.)
BTW..... Doesn't CMD sell their HD for $250? Seems to me if I were
thinking of spending $200, I would just go for the HD instead.
Whether CMD's HD works with PET dos, I guess is the next question.
My 2 cents....
