RE: Creating a Commodore DVD

Hallo allemaal,

I got response from Marko, Graig, Rodolfo and Richard. The main idea was to
distribute the available stuff on DVD as being at least the most practical
way to distribute the stuff. And then volunteers could sort out things.
But I already ran into a bit of trouble: I sent Marko a DVD last thursday
only to find out yesterday I had another CD with lots of goodies :(

Anyway, I can burn some more DVD's and sent them to you but then I need your
snailmail addresses. Then we have to sort out the tasks: who is going to
sort out what. And also impoprtant: how are we going to present the results?
Marko's idea was to create a program that reshuffles the contents of the DVD
(once copied to an harddisk). Once all work is done, it is just a matter of
running this program and we have a 'DVD' where everything is sorted as we
would like to see it. But what about stuff you and I have that is not on the
original CD?

What IMHO is more important is the (HTML-) archiving/describing of
everything as is done with Funet. You can start with the goodies you have
yourself. But to avoid double work the participators first have to send a
list containing the stuff they have. IMHO directory listings will do for the
moment.

How to distribute lists, etc? Graig mentioned a mailing list. I don't know
how many people want to help but the most simple way is to send me the lists
in the first place. Then after some days I will send the combined list to
everyone. Then you can use this email as base to reply to all.

To give you at least an idea what I have, here are the titles of the CD's I
own:
- Arnold
- 64'er (first release)
- C64-Gold
- High Voltage #1
- High Voltage #2

Directory listings will follow.

Hallo Richard,

> I have some repair manuals for commodores myself I could scan.

That is always welcome, of course. But make sure they cannot be found on
FUNET to save you double work.
