Another file question (PET)

I've found another problem I don't know how to handle: It seems that the PETs
have quite a different kernal jump table. Some routines that the later models
have, namely SETLFS and SETNAM are missing. How am I supposed to open a file
without these functions? Is writing directly to the zero page my only option?
