You could connect 2 in series and run them off 220.

When batteries sit for a long time and the power is completely drained,
the chemicals inside begin other reactions that are irreversible.  The
chemical products are corrosive and eat away the battery wall.  If left
long enough, they will also eat away the battery contacts in your
equipment.
