    I don't know any details, but googling for "pci parallel port" returns 
    quite a few interesting results with cards ranging from $14 - $79, most 
    of them claiming to be 3 times faster than ISA-based cards / supporting 
    a transfer rate of 2MB/s, whatever that means...
