And this proved to be correct - the username/password query suddenly
disappears when the request is originating from an address within the
131.155.*.* range..
This said, the standard is *exteremly* vague, and hardly descriptive. It
only presents a couple of stage diagrams; the actual protocol on the bus
is buried beneath a *deep* layer.
