Oh yes, no argument there! It just frustrated my efforts to land crypto that would work with a modern server. If the REU ran at 48Mhz also then I’d have HTTPS TLS 1.3 GET working against real world servers, but right now it’s still too slow and will time out unless someone has set unusually long connection time outs on their servers. I’m still working on the individual crypto math libraries to see if I can squeeze more performance out of them. Given how slow it is I might be able to remove some side channel protections to get there and call it acceptable losses since the timing is SO SLOW that it would be hard to infer anything from not have constant time.
