As I am using just a "dumb" CPLD, it basically takes away 1/2 the bandwith
_at_MHz for composite video, or 2/3 the bandwidth for VGA output.
But only for the on-screen area, and I plan to implement a "video off"
register.

No, simple 8-bit parallel async RAM.
